Wow what a dick head. He completley misses the point with the album doesn't he? It doesn't have any meaning or shit. It's just a fucking dance album!

Good vocals on the first 3 albums? Poison was the only fucking track with any vocals from the first 2 albums. What an absolute wanker.

Oh Noes :(

Why everyone thinks WOF is about the destruction of Earth ? when it's clearly a warning to other bands, I mean the lyrics are "YOUR World's On Fire"

Hmmm I never realised it's 'your' world... hmm always thought it was 'the' world's on fire...

BUT I also never thought it was about global warming either :D, more like, here we are, the prodigy, setting the place on fire with our music hehe. Also fitting into the invaders theme. Your world does actually make more sense with the 'it's about to expire' :D

Now I love the tune even more.

the guy who wrote the review was obviously about 18, its stupid to look at a prodigy album and talk about lyrics, never a strong point with the prodigy, on the whole the lyrics are stupid and have no meaning, its about samples and beats and thats it...... the prodigy are about the live thing, to criticise them without going to a gig to see them is wrong!...focus on what makes them great, the snarling beats.... and again comparing this album to the mid nineties era is just plain stupid, different times and different levels of creativity...take this album and review it for 2009 not 1994 through to 1998

In that Interview with the cool russian dude Maxim said the vocals are part of the music, they are a sound.

I think its not that important what the words are saying, its more how they sound phonetically. But then when you look at tracks like Warning, the lyrics are cheeky also.

How the fuck can anyone think Worlds on Fire is about Climate Change?

Yeah.. Piranha is about little fish, and Omen is about the Devil's son, Invaders Must Die is about war.. etc etc ETC!

people that write these kind of reviews are just mental heads. Trying to be all "intelligent" and acting like they musically educated.

They are just some dick typing on a keyboard. Plenty of them around.

Agreed that Prodigy is about the music; but let people have their own opinions without calling them stupid, thanks.

When you listen to Prodigy tracks you get a lot of images in your head, and that is different from person to person and that is great.

Even when a review like this may not be what we want to hear or might not be very modestly written it's his opinion... and peace be with it.

Well said all.

There's only 1 real 'critic' I have any respect for and that is Andrea Neko. OK, she's obviously partisan to the Prodge herself, but she has a knack of telling it how it is and although she might not place her view similarly to other fans, she reserves from too much judgement and let's us come to the conclusion ourselves. Good on ya Neko! [and she's damned hot too - which probably makes me cling from her every word]....*cough, cough*

...back on topic....

I have a sneaky feeling that the album is set to receive a lot of further scrutiny from the lesser ''streamed'' critics out there.

Yo man, anyone can say whatever they want. I aint gonna stop them.

But suggesting that the lyrics to "Worlds on Fire" are about Climate change is as "stupid" as suggesting the lyrics to "Smack my Bitch up" are about Violence towards women.

Yes SMBU isn't about hitting women and WOF is probably/surely not about global warming but people might still get those images.

-Personally I saw a world of fire and destruction first times I listened to it. Like the end of the world kinda thing...

If WOF is gonna be a single I am very interested in what the video will be like. "Your world's on fire" - who's world might that be? Would be interesting to see what kinda video the band would make for that one.

-Maybe they mean the crowd's world's on fire, because it is such a rush being at a Prodigy gig 8-)

Lectro, you make a fair point, but it's a little degrading when you read a review that contains constant mis-quotes, wrongly spelled names and evidence that they clearly not spent a few short moments to research into the material they are reviewing.

If I was employed to review an album, for example, by a band I'd heard of but knew little about, I would make damn sure I researched enough to justify my opinions, purely because I may find myself with a certain egg on my face. Having an opinion is the beauty of humanity, but when it's concentrated into a subjective matter [like this one] it goes a long way to at least have some knowledge of those, or what you're writing about.

Professionalism, you might call it, but I think it's just common sense. ;)

PEACE

Yeah you are right - there were some comment in that guys review which shows his ignorance. All I'm saying is he is right to have his opinion without being called stupid. I'm sure he's not a lesser man than anyone else for not liking the album.

He's just missing out on the fun  For me this album is great and I love the fact that there's a band which can keep on impressing me without getting to be cheesy or whatever.

Anyway - I guess my problem is that I sometimes see many rocks being thrown without any bridges being build. One of these rocks is the word "Stupid" being used when people dissagree.

But yeah I'm probably just being grumpy today

Gonna listen to the best album of this decade again and get thrown into a trance of pure musical pleasure!! Maybe I'll do a little dance even. Just for the sake of it.

....

Btw. we should arrange a new chat sometime soon. It was good the last time.

Lectro, I hear you man.

I just feel it incumbent to pour myself a glass of the Chateau Montignac 2005 Bordeaux, close the CD drawer, sit back on the sofa and hammer out a good 46 minutes worth of IMD and think to myself: ''Fuck the lot of em - this is fuckin' shit!''

Happy days!

Cabalist - ha ha, good spot, it works both ways doesn't it mate!

In fact, I mean by lesser ''streamed'' = those who are more Pop Indie, Rock, Metal, Easy-Listening...hell, even country & western influenced as opposed to dance and electro et al.
