Today, while going to visit one of my friends, I've listened to this track on my headphones. And I realized that WD is THE most boring track ever released by The Prodigy. I almost fell asleep in the subway listening to it, there's no impact, no power, no nothing. Just a boring dnb loop. I've tried to "get it" since the album was released, but I really can't see WD as a good track.
And there's "The Big Gundown", or Comanche, or whatever you wanna call it. It's an absolutely amazing track, I just love it, and still we get WD as a single, while Gundown is on a b-side.
I agree, WD is THE most commercial track ever done by them, so I guess I can understand why it's a single. But this is one single I'll never buy. Even WOF has more energy than WD.
Whatever...

I respectfully dissagree.

It has energy, it has the old school vibe and it brings back so many memories. Ok it's a bit repetitive, and doesn't go anywhere, but it don't matter to me.

I suppose WD is such a blatant dance track, that fans who prefer the rockier side of Prodigy won't like WD as much.

WD is a celebration of the 20th anniversary of acid house/rave, and it is a perfect tribute IMO.

totally agree...i love the beginning, the sax and the echo but the middle bit is so weak, bad sample, bad use of sample, one of the weakest tracks liam has ever wrote, it may get in the top ten, and most people on here thinks its amazing but i think its by far the worst track on IMD..very cheesy and soulless

As much as you can say you hate it, seeing them play it live is another thing. I was lucky enough to witness them playing it for the first time last year in Sheffield and remember the total buzz of hearing Liam playing a track suited to Experience, that buzz is still there and as Liam said this album has been made with playing live in mind, not for walking along the street with your headphones on.

Yeah. I mean. Warriors dance is not a complex masterpiece. And never will be. But what if liam only made advanced complex monstertunes like smack by bitch, omen, breathe, ect.

Take it for what it is. A simple dance beat/bassline made into a track. Something for playing in the clubs. Remember that Liam made this tune for ONE live-play. Not with the album in his mind. But the tune got so popular that he put on the album.

So I think this is a simple tune yes.. And kinda boring for just listening to yes.. But it works great when i work out. And i guess its gonna be great on the dancefloor and live too. Thats the point of this tune.

We all have different opinions and i wont flame you for what you just said, but i strongly disagree because its not boring at all i mean the middle part of this song is such an unbelievable tease one of the best ever in all their songs.

Its the best track theyve done since hmmm smack my bitch up? and obviously the best track on IMD.

8-)

Warriors Dance is a grower, I loved hearing the live versions ever since I heard it live at Rainbow Warehouse but the qalbum version had a different vibe to it.

The more I hear it, the better it gets and makes me think "fuck, those 5 minutes went fast!" and for what seems such a simplistic piece of music, that is a grand compliment.

Well, everyone can have an opinion, as I do. For me, WD is extremely boring and weak, not an all bad track, but weak. And my issue is not about WD (after all, I couldn't care less about it, IMD has other tracks that I like), is about WD being a single and Gundown (for example), a track that's (IMO) 10 times better than WD, is on a b-side. That's all.
And yes, I didn't say anything about WD live, I didn't get the chance to hear it so far. But as a track to listen at home or anywhere else, no thank you. No Good is way better than this, and after all these years I still love it and I could listen to it over and over without getting bored.

Was listening to radio 1 today at about 1 in the afternoon. Vernon Kay introduced WD, says he's in love with the tune haha! He was like anyone driving around in their mark II escort with a boom box in the back, turn it up to the max!

He loved it so much just as it was about to finish he played the whole thing again haha Classic. Good to see it getting some air time.

P.S. I really dig the edit, think it works really well!

WD shit? nah, i wouldn't say that.

but it's my least favorite off the new album, probably cuz i heard it 1000x and it hasn't changed too much.

but i do like the edit since it keeps it fresh and more direct and not as repetitive.
