You can't compare the two personally - but you can compare them based on where they stand in their respected genres.

Prodigy (rappter) - honestly, he's nothing special. He's just another rapper. Sorry to say it, but its true. He's not a legend like people like Biggie, 2pac, or even the big names now (well, the only real big RAPPER now is Kanye. I dont count lil jon (or anyone with lil in their names) because poprap is NOT rapping). Prodigy is not known for his solo career. He could stop making solo music and not alot of people would notice. The same can not be said about Mobb Deep, because as a group, they are pretty important. But Prodigy isnt. He isnt significant in his genre. Note - i'm not saying he's not talent, but its not like he is an icon in the hip-hop community.

THE prodigy on the other hand, have had a huge influence on EDM. They managed to noticeably change their sound threw each of their four albums. They were also very important factors in intrucing post-rave dance music into the USA in the late 90s. They were pioneers of the 90s, and helped set the bar with what a live electronic act can (and should) be. They are clearly an important band based on their accomplishments. How many other bands could have played a free show in the heart of Moscow in 1997 and attracted half a million people? The Prodigy have made an impact on music.
