i've just gotta learn how not to be a mouthy twat!

seems alec has the same problem.

but if we can find a way to sort things out here, why can't they?

they should follow our example and deal with their beef. then they could get together to make some tunes. be interesting to hear what stuff liam and alec would come up with together.

They should do a rework of No Souvenirs. I bet that would come out the day it got recorded.

whose name would come first on the cover?

they could always join their names together: by liec and alam sorta thing.
or make an anagram of their names: 'i am a cell'
or if you put all of it together you get: 'A measlier convulsion'

so that's their release sorted then

P.S. Please do not take this as an offensive comment! I DO RESPECT YOUR OPINIONS DEAR FRIENDS!

haha! well, you can say the exact same thing of Keith and Maxim! :-D

EDIT:

Here are my two favorite ATR tracks:

Destroy 2000 Years of Culture

Speed
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GR_kjdr7e0Y

ATR encouraging a riot in Berlin, with old school slogans like: "fuck the police", and ending up being arrested.

Hey!
I have read this whole topic. I understand both sides (pro Prodigy, pro ATR). I like both groups, but for me they are from two music-worlds.
ATR have much more connections and roots in Industrial and Noise Music.
Their trademark-sound is a fusion of hardcore breakbeats and (guitar-)noise whitch reminds me a little bit of Firestarter. I don't exclude the option, that ATR could be an influence on The Prodigy because they started their hard sound a view years befor FOTL was released.
It's known that ATR were (left wing) anarchist who kicked the right wing scene in Germany painfully in the ass. That's why I like them. On the other hand, I'm not a friend of socialistic paroles (NO I'm not a skinhead, I just don't like extreme political views), especially in the interview where Alec quotes Gudrun Enslin (one of the RAF leaders) by saying that EVERYTHING is political even sex.....all right.....that's a very general opinion. I disagree with him.
Besides that, ATR have a more constant position in the underground music scene especially with avangarde/atonal artist and avangarde labels (Mille Plateaux). That's for me the BIGGEST difference to The Prodigy.
The Prodigy: a music-chameleon, always trying new sounds, sound fusions and pioneering the rave scene. They had one foot in POP and one foot in underground music, which is good for people whose biggest music source is MTV to think for themselves: "Oh, there could be much more interesting music outside the mainstream". Unfortunatelly their good days passed since I've heard AONO. Prodigy had no real philosphy behind their music which was created mainly for people who like to HEAR music, not for those who want to search it behind every fuckin' sound in the world (even if it doesn't exist)

and for a happy end (?) something for pro_mario: Nic Endo didn't make real NOISE music. Go and listen to WHITEHOUSE, MERZBOW (with whom Alec made a live-record) or the first Album of SPK and hear what real NOISE-music is, allright? This bands have a similar sound to that tune of Nic Endo but they made sick live-actions to their music and lyricaly dealed with contents like War,Rape,Child Abuse,Paranoia...means everything what is taboo in human society.

hmmm...I don't know. Didn't ATR's Delete Yourself and MFTJG get released the same year? I've always found MFTJG to be a waay harder album that FotL...FotL is a pop album

I won't bother to check, but ATR (or just Alec Empire) might have released EPs way before 1994 though...

Yes they did!
http://www.discogs.com/artist/Atari+Teenage+Riot
Prodigy and ATR started at the beginning of the 90s, but ATR had their hard sound way before Prodigy nearly got the same result.

I will translate the whole interview for the forum-members to understand what Alec says. I hope that everybody will recognize, that he is a little bit egoisitic, to much introverted.

Alec Empire: "So to say, Atari Teenage Riot was a soundtrack for most people to unite themselves again and do many things.
The deals is, we made the statement 'riot music produce riots' and this is it. Music for us is functional music. It's not pop-music, ergo popular music, but music, according to our view, which has the main function to push the people, make them euphoric and make them do something.

We have a main difference to Prodigy for example. Prodigy is a sort of fake to me. They want to be punk, have different haircuts and say somehow they are punks. They are clowns for me. Their music has no political energy for me."

Moderator: "Prodigy doesn't pretend to be political, but do you feel that a band should be political?"

Alec Empire: "Ehmmm no. I want to say that everything is political. Gudrun Ensslin of the RAF once said "Everything is politics even if I have sex" and it is so.

The deal with Digital Hardcore is, that you don't stand still, that the music developes . The sound of Drum'n'Bass or House for example stumbles in this days. For this reason we have much more bands than producers on our label and things continue to develope.
For example a band like EC8OR. The interesting thing is that Patrick, who programs the music, is more into hardcore, techno and gabber. And Gina, the singer of the band, comes more from the sorta 60's trash punk scene. And then the whole thing mixes up and becomes interesting.

Patrick Cremer (EC8ER): "Music which is really popular in Berlin is techno, easy listening or studentrock, the totally oposite of this and our concerts are crowded usually and there are lot of people they are against us are typical boring sleep party-shit."

BERLIN

Alec Empire: "At the very beginning The Tresor (-Club) was, a very important Club where many things in the underground happened. All the Detroit (-techno) DJ's Underground Resistance, Jeff Mils and such people came here. The Club was something like a cellar, very dirty, with puddles on the floor and everything was improvised.

Moderator: "What is played here nowadays?"

Alec Empire:"...House....it was very hard music in the past, extremely hard. Nowadays it's is just tralalala, nothing interesting, I think."

The rest is in english! :?
