The original firestarter musicvideo. The production company was told to portray a precious little girl as a the "firestarter" or the fires daughter. Liam Howlett, lead singer in The Prodigy, thought it could be ironic if people mixed up the word firestarter with fires daughter. However music television channel MTV found the video to "rough" and called it; "an inspiration to violence", and therefore denied to release it. Instead the Prodigys record label hired another production company that made the famous tunnel-video wich was approved by MTV and released for the masses.

I am sure that's not the original version - this is such a crap cant be for real - it's too static and slow bad edit work - it's a fan video for sure

The original video had footage of the band snowboarding.

This is so ridiculous
You don't even need to watch more than 1 second to know that it's fake - it's widescreen, and nobody made widescreen music videos in 1996

I read an interview with Walter Stern, the director of the Firestarter video, that the original clip has been shot in a junkyard, and it featured the 4 guys smashing around, breaking stuff, etc, but they found that boring and shot the famous one in the underground tunnel instead. It was very important for the director not to feature any fire-related footage at all, he wanted Keith to be a symbol of some kind of 'inspiration' that would start a mental fire...cool idea!

Liam said he'd give us the original video for free, but he lost it. So it's definitely not the original one.

After all, they'd already scrapped one video for the track for being too commercial and not capturing the vibe of 'Firestarter'.
