Yeah, I just bought the album and gave it a listen. I heard few 'simial' sounds but the one for Stand Up was like a total ripoff. I checked with the song that I thought of and it turned out to be similar but not a ripoff, so I want to ask You for opinion. I'm talking about 'fanfares' part, but just the 'rising' part (3-4 seconds). I think it's similar to The Offspring - Denial, Revisited, You can listen to it here: http://fredkaa.wrzuta.pl/audio/cWZ9yLo0 ... acy_of_one I am not thinking about intro (which sounds similar anyway), but Dexters voice when he start singing. I cross-played them, but the tempo is different. I separated those parts and played one after another and it's other (Dexters last note is lower, while Liams fanfares last note is highest), but still similar. I thought someone with good ear can help me. Thanks in advance. |

the problem of stand up is another,it's that stand'up riff is one of the most used riff of this universe, that's why i don't like so much this track,it's something already heard,it's not only about the sample, but of the enitre track, the sample especially,i can't compare it with 3 kilos which is based on a sample too,but in a divine and original way.Stand Up is just a cheesy track with a riff used too much.....i could give you a no-ending list of the songs that have this riff. |

go and check wikipedia for 'riff' because You are confusing it with something else, perhaps rhythm, tempo or bars (i can't tell You because I don't know english words for that, but as riff is used in polish I am sure it's not it) those songs (each different, i am sorry for You if You think its all same) maybe have similar drum scheme, but thats not riff |

i don't want to seem arrogant, but you'd got to go on wikipedia and encyclopedia,'cause maybe you don't know what you're talking about......in all thes songs that i named you,it's the melody really similar, almost identical to stand up melody,it's not about drums, drums are the only different part and as i told you,i can continue the"no ending" list. This is the most used riff in the history of music. |

i double checked 'riff' on wikipedia, both in my mother language and in english, did You? I checked and later I made my post here to be sure I'm not the wrong one here. |

you're right,of course, but when i meant riff,i didn't mean drums riff or bass riff or effect riffs,so it's my mistake, because i didnt' specificate, but i meant melody riff that in stand up case is about melody of brass and bass. And about the other similar songs, they're not identical, but you know,it's a too used melody i think. |
