Quote: Through her website Kflay.com, Flaherty has released a three-volume mixtape, which has helped her get noticed by the likes of Liam Howlett of the Prodigy (who co-produces her forthcoming EP, due next month).

sadly this is the most probable direction of liams carer in music biz. i dont think the prodge will be active 10-15 years from today. hell be producing more and more stuff for other people and for films. hes probably already turned down hundreds of stints as producer already, like with madonna

Sounds good to me.

People were saying this back when BGAT came out, ok that wasn't quite 10 years ago although nearly, but they were also saying that the next album would probably be their last (AONO at the time). Then after AONO came out people were saying that the next Prodigy album (Invaders Must Die) would be their last. I'm happy that Prodigy are working on a new album. I know they can't last forever, and I guess anymore than 10-15 years from now would be quite a lot, but I don't know, I don't want it to end. Then again it would be sad to watch them not being able to move on stage due to their age if it got to that far. Hmm, I'm sad now...

bit off topic, but as you mention Liam 'turning down Bowie'...
you know - I just recently got that "Bowie Special" magazine or whatever it was called... I think it was published by Mojo, or whatever...
...anyways - it's a collection of past interviews, reviews, and whatnot...
and one interviewer asks (this is around '97 and if I'm not mistaken, it was originally in NME) about the Prodigy turning him down... and he was actually surprised about the question...
as - according to Bowie, he had never asked Liam to do anything. He also goes on to say that he hung out with Keith on more than one occasion, which also added to his surprise. It was sort of along the lines of "oh that's weird, b/c we've hung out backstage at festivals a few times, and got along nicely"
I'll see if I can find the article... I don't think I've thrown away the issue yet.

I am all for Liam producing for other people
It'll help give him some new flavor for when a new Prodigy album comes around
I would think this would help him develop even more as a producer
And give him some new ideas for Prodigy stuff

Glad to see Liam producing for others. the man got talent and im sure that wouldnt interfere with the band that we love.
Regarding the prodigy live time, im surprised they still exists, its twenty years, so i wouldnt put a dead line on them. Sure the demand will exist forever, but im sure they will know when and how to quit. hope that we have more 10 prodigy years (two more albums ).
I always remember Liam saying, with humour, "as long as Primal Scream go on, they would too"... so long live both bands.

Listening to her stuff now, first impression is good. Talented singer/ songwriter who can rap. Has a unique sound blending indie pop with hiphop without it sounding naff or cliche'd. I can see why Liam wants to work with her.

I'm going to develop a live animation, 3D holographic software thats partly like GORILLAZ, and partly like Amon Tobin's ISAM, and keep the Prodigy hooked up to life support so their twisted minds are subconciously controlling their holographic avatars into the distant future, guiding our species through mind-blowing audio-visual raves towards the ultimate apocolypse of beats and lazers.
youre welcome
