I would like to tell a story about my unfortunate purchase. I kept it secret until now because what I bought was so rare that I didn't want info about it spoiled but years have passed and I had to slow down my collecting. In the meantime I never saw this cd on sale or in any collection so there's still a chance that the thief got it.

The story:
Looking for rare items is not about eBay and I once discovered interesting French site with many unusual (mostly French) cds. It's priceminister.com. I quickly browsed their catalog, prices were a bit high (for a lowest-price-eBay-sniper) but I realised that considering how rarely these pop up on discogs or eBay I wanted to make a purchase. Despite site being French I registered there but I couldn't make a purchase. The site owners not only didn't put my country on list, but they also refused to allow sellers to ship to Poland. Moreover on that site you can't send a message to seller! You can send message to site support and if it doesn't violate their fascist rules they forward it to the seller. I should have given up because I usually refuse to support such behavior but those rarites got me in...

I was looking for help from someone. I could have (and I should have) asked some reliable collector but at that time I thought that nobody will help me seeing the items (will buy it themselves - it happend to me before). Instead I was looking by country (I even asked some shops to be middlemans-refused) and I asked this one active board member from Spain. He agreed so I made and order and gave his adress. He was supposed to forward the package to me (I asked not to open it). I was waiting patiently for weeks (probably more than 3) then asked "site" if items were sent. I had major problems getting that info from them but after all "site" said that seller confirmed dispatch to them and they asked me to confirm adress in return. Then I asked BK member and he started saying he got nothing but also that he can't prove the adress because the bills are on his parents. I said that the name doesn't matter, just the adress and never recevied a reply.

This is where major fail happens, I accidentally deleted my inbox. Here's me briefly mentioning that on forums: http://www.brainkiller.it/public/forum/ ... p?p=155295
It was months later... I was bummed about that for a very long time.

So like I said I just reminded myself of that today and I was thinking about posting here... I was checking mails to see how long ago it happend and I just found this guys adress in confirmation email...

Here are the facts and ideas:
Purchase happend on 24 May 2008, 17,98€ total.
My "reclamations" started 50 days later - enough time for package to bounce back to seller.
Seller isn't selling on that site anymore but considering low price of cds it's unlike that he scammed me.
Package could have been lost by post.
I received vague messages from BK member and afterwards he stopped answering - not a way to act if you haven't done anything wrong.
Sellers id can be found on eBay with 3k+ positive feedback, yet inactive too.

Ideas:
Try to contact seller, maybe he could confirm that he haven't received anything back?
Try to contact the BK member (or his parents?) by using his adress.
Go there in person? (Spain is a bit of a trip for me...)

Thanks in advance for any help.

Find where he or she lives...
Go there...
Shit on their doorstep.

Edit:
Oh, I forgot to add that when the person comes to the door...
You gotta shout "oh my god, thats the funky shit!"

perfect solution.

On a serious note, I feel bad for you Chaosu. If your certain, name and shame the person involved, but you can't be 100% certain, so you're probably best cut your losses and forget about it.

when was this? 2008?! The chances of getting it sorted out are nearly impossible now... It's a shame you've lost the name of the person on BK, was it a regular at that time?

it wasn't random name as I thought it's kind of familiar. i know it was long time ago but since nobody posted that he added any of those cds to his/hers collection means that either he still sits on them or he sold it to someone with some private clause. however since i realised i got his adress (when wiriting this topic) i decided not to tell which cds were stolen yet. i guess i'll have to plan a trip to Madrid this summer...

Majority of my collection was bought for money that I earned working for about 0.55-0.7GBP or 1$ or 0.75-1€ (can't tell you "right" amount because currency value changes). Now consider the amount again.... of course the fact that I earn much more _now_ doesn't matter. Also if it's no problem for some to lose 18€ you can send it to my paypal account, right? There are few persons in this topic who clearly don't care for such money... Besides that if you let crime happen what stops it from happening again? Last but not least yes, it was a really rare cd.
