indeed - it's my favorite off the record.

The album is good as a whole but I really prefer their previous recordings.. I don't know - since 100 Window their work became somehow cold and darker and it lacks the soul element they used to have. I miss that warm sound.

Basically, since Mushroom left, they kind of drifted away from soul. I bet Tricky's input couldnt hurt either.

exactly! now they sound too paranoid - and all those guests - I just don't feel this record as Massive Attack's one - definitely lacks something

their true quality was already lost on 100th window. Never got into this album. This one has more distinguished songs and paradise circus is definitely on a par with teardrop..

tricky collaborations apears to be on the way btw..

All albums are good. 100th Window was a step down, but there was no way they'd top Mezzanine. As for the new album, loving it. Very surprised and disappointed to see it only made number 6 in the album charts. That's shocking, and I can't think of why...

I think that new album is great, better than first two albums, and not better than 100th window.

Yes 100th window is too dark, and that is my main reason why is better.

But Mezzanine is still the best one.

first two albums are classics and 100th window is great too. Mezzanine is solid and last one is boring in my opinion. ive heard them in italy in summer 2008 they were plaing 7or 8 new tracks and i was thinkin then this is going to be best MA album. But theyve binned most of the tracks and ruined rest like liam did with wof.

I personally can't stand Protection (just one or two tracks  ). However, Mezzanine is in my top 5 favorite albums ever.

I actually like Protection second best after Mezzanine. Tracks like Karmacoma, Sly, and the title track put it right up there for me. Yeah all of their albums are great, no bad album. Massive Attack are brilliant, shame it takes them so long to make albums, but it's usually worth it...
