Guest01 wrote: Solid album, but probably their worst yet. Few good songs and only one which is really great (MAH). Music is mostly good, sometimes squawks too much, but album is full of TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE female vocals. I wish for Instrumental version of whole album. Born In The Echoes and Push The Button fight for worst Chem Bros album |

But on Push the Button, for me there isn't one song I don't like. And half of them are really awesome (specially live), including one which is masterpiece (Believe). |

Surrender fans rejoice!!!! “It’s been 20 years since Surrender and we’re putting out a big box set of that; we found lots of different versions of the tracks and it’s really interesting to listen to them now to see what we considered to be the finished version. We’ve got a 20-minute version of Out of Control – we used to just make them for fun.” Taken from... https://stack.com.au/music/music-interview/sonic-science-an-interview-with-the-chemical-brothers/?fbclid=IwAR2_WezTkihILjNNxWSwhQ9pTCo5hb8-Fz2skvUnjJ-MdbAB25dkMW680lI |

I found the first half of the set to sound a little bit disjointed and doesn't flow as good as it used to. I still hate Go as an opener. I just don't really like that track and it's a weak opener. It builds up nicely, but when it kicks in, you can hear/feel the energy just drop. It's just the beginning of the tour, so hopefully they work on sprucing up the set to flow and mix a bit better in the first half. It's pretty solid from Escape Velocity and on. I really do believe they're missing out on using the C.H.E.M.I.C.A.L. vocal and Leave Home/Song For The Siren as the opener. It would be an awesome introduction to hear "The C, the H, the E, the M, the I, the C, the A, the L, the brothers, te brothers gonna work it out, the brothers." Makes sense to open with it. Anything would be better than Go. EML Ritual would also make a good opener. I also think they missed a good opportunity to use the Do It Again vocals with the Under The Influence/Dig You Own Hole. "I was under the influence. Oh my God, what have I done? All I wanted was a little fun. Got a brain like bubblegum. Blowing up my cranium." |
