For What It's Worth, My Review.....
The first word that comes to my mind after hearing this album is: WOW. From beginning to end, "Invaders Must Die" delivers an A+ effort by Liam and Co.
Most of us have already heard the first two tracks so it was a nice surprise to hear longer versions of both. I believe the extended cuts are an improvement to the radio edits (especially for IMD). I personally think the album moves from good to amazing at Take Me To Hospital. From there, it was almost impossible for me to press pause to take a phone call.
The Best: In my opinion, Thunder, Run With The Wolves (wow, will be GREAT live), Warriors Dance and Take Me To The Hospital
Letdowns?: Very few, but I thought Piranha and Colours were a little to basic. Also, some changes from the live version of World's on Fire aren't at all to my liking. I really wish he would have kept it as is. Makes the song rather choppy in my opinion.
But this albums blends beautifully. I would put it up as an equal to FOTL and nipping on the heels of MFTJJ. If the bonus tracks are on par, I would say this will be the steroid injection into the prodigy. Heck, maybe you'll see a run similar to Trent Reznor's over the past several years (three albums in 4 years if I'm not mistaken). Now isn't a time to be greedy. Nah. More of a time to say well done to Liam. Unlike AONO, this album was one worth waiting for. Kudos.
Stars: 3 1/2 out of 4
Grade: B+
Other grades:
Experience: * * *
Jilted: * * * *
FOTL: * * * 1/2
AONO: * * 1/2
IMD: * * * 1/2

funny,
i love Piranha and Colours.
i mean i pretty much love all the new tunes, but those two are in my top tunes for this album. I felt since I heard IMD and Omen already, it kinda slowed the start of the album for me. i mean there were nice little surprise chops and extended parts to make the tracks interesting. the first two sound much better in full version, even if it's a measly 30 seconds longer. you can do alot in that time.
but yeah, i guess that's what great about The Prodigy, they appeal tp so many different people's tastes. groups of us favor these tunes a little more than another group. but it's all about appeal.
i mean look at people's favorite albums.
it's more like when you first really started picking up on them that is your cherished album. probably because The Prodigy attract different generations of fans.
can't wait for my CD and bang this shit proper.
i mean these tunes boom.
this album doesn't feel like the end. with the mood of the band and the vibe of this album. The boys definitely can rock it again with another album. Where they go from here soundwise? Who the fuck knows. As long as it has big riffs, big bass, and big beats which IMD does, I'm SAT-TIS-FIED!
Liam said new tracks, CAN'T FUCKING WAIT!
and almost forgot Lost Beats EP too!!!
Dead Ken and Comanche, sweeeet.
here's to hoping for Mescaline one day...

I get a feeling that Mescaline will be the B-side to Warriors Dance. I mean, the 2 tunes have a similar vibe IMO.
