I don't see what the huge deal is about this tune.

It's different yea and don't get me wrong I like it. But as I've said before I don't think it really works in the context of the album. After a banger like piranah I want the album to finish on something even harder. Instead we got stand up.

It's my least favourite tune on the album and I often skip it.

For me the album is perfectly blended and Stand Up is part of that.

I don't really count Stand Up as all that legitimate compared to the rest of the bangers on IMD. Its a great instrumental that closes out the album. A victory theme. Its not supposed to be a "rock'n Prodge tune" in the sense of the rest of the tracks.

Liam should close the live shows with it!

I think it would be a bit of an anticlimax to end the live show with stand up BUT it would be great to have it after the band have finished (a la "love is in the air")

Stand Up could also be the first track when they come back and do their encore... -or the last track before the encore...

I was just about to start a new topic asking this very question. I recognised the sample the first time I heard this track, and it's been doing my head in trying to work it out (plus I've spent about 6 hours going through my mp3 collection trying to locate it)....

Does ANYONE know where this is from? I will reward the person who comes up with the source.

Cheers!

they use the same sample as Primal Sream did in "Loaded" (if I'm not wrong) so check this out:

Climbatize is more heavy, more rolling, this is just a bit too weak for me and nothing new, there were loads of trumpet-style big beat tunes out around 96

That's what I think.
Climbatize is smarter, the horn-sample is more tricky and this 1string bass played by Liam is more filthy than the electronic stuff on SU. This Jedi Knights-break makes it very funky.
With Climbatize, Liam created something out of surprising elements, not an easy track to write.

SU is nice but really nothing new at all, the feeling is RJD2 and Fatboy mixed, imho, and the beats are very lame, it feels a bit empty.
It's a hymn, but an unfresh one.

Leaves me with a stale taste, but then again, I'm having the biggest possible expections for a Prodge-tune.

I dunno, something about this song totally grabs me. I love it. It blew me away. A very simple tune yes, but it just does it for me. I think it's fantastic. While there may have been similar tunes of this type in the 90s or what have you, it's still a good song and something I didn't expect from The Prodigy.

Some folks say it's the new Climbatize for them. It's the new The Trick for me. One of those songs I totally love but can't really explain why if that makes any sense at all.

I like Stand Up a lot more than I expected. From what I'd read about it before, it didn't seem that exciting as it actually is. It's the new 3 Kilos for me, although not as good.
Also it's a proper closing tune - definitely one of the best, but Fuel My Fire would probably remain my favourite closer.
