guys explain me something please... how is it that in 1995 the prodigy played CJ Bollands No Good Remix on live as "The 95 Vibe" and then they scorned him for making a similar track to poison? It doesnt really make any sense to me. CJ Bolland himself could have also said: theres only one cj bolland, u cant use my style and get away with it blabla... its shit!

They played the remix before CJ Bolland's 'Sugar Is Sweeter' was about.
It was all a bit tongue in cheek anyways.

Not sure I really understand what you're asking
Right, CJ Bolland remixed 'No Good', that's fine, everybody happy.
Then along came 'Sugar Is Sweeter' which ripped off the same melody phrasing as 'Poison', people not so happy.
If you're saying it's the same as The Prodigy using a remix of one of their own tunes live......, well it's not.

Naw, naw, naw, I don't say it's the same. I say I don't understand the big attraction about this. I mean, so what if cj bolland did a similar track to poison? he might have been just very well influenced by that song. i don't see that this mean that he "stole maxim's style and got away with it". beside, lets take a look on smbu. what on that song is a rhythm created by liam? he took about fifteen samples, modified them and put them together. isn't it a "stealing of others' style and getting away with it"? even if he bought the copyright of them and all. i simple dont see why cj bollands track is such a big business? (even if thats a shit track, because that is a real shit...)

Exactly
If I remember correctly CJB had said he'd never even heard Poison, may well be true and just a coincidence.
Anyway that's all in the past

@ armageddon :
Its not the music thats being bashed, its the lyrics. The poison lyrics is pure maxims style and his own words. When CJ Bolland copied that style directly, maxim got pissed off !!

its on the ''I know what u did last summer soundtrack'' .. i think yep. it's that sugar daddy track. i think it was Poison @ brixton 96 where maxim made a tiny speech about it
The track is actually called "Sugar is Sweeter". "I still know.." OST features a remix of it.
Brixton 96 speech is top notch
