I'm still holding myself from listening to the new recordings. Loving your reactions , positive vibes all the way!

Which reminds me of those who bitched and complained about the 3 tracks we got which are amazing but i realised a big drop in moaning after the new recordings were out.

I think the ones who don't like the tunes stopped moaning for other reasons, though.
Rebel Radio sounds most promising to me. Plus, digging the SMBU-Beats on GYFO. The other tunes seem quite muddy to me, but I'm willing to wait and hold back until the whole package arrives.

I agree with you Electronic_Punk® but with 1 small exeption. Nasty was the wrong song for the 1st single and it was right for many of us to moan. Can you imagine the reactions if he released Wall of Death first?. But i agree with you that all those who moaned for all 3 songs are wrong.

I agree that it sounds a bit too simplistic for a first single in retrospect, especially compared to the other stuff. It should have been an album track and it would have been a good one.

Let's hope they fix this by releasing a proper single before March 30.

And I'm with you on WoD.

After 3 australia gigs, i guess they've picked the new single already...

We'll know next week, in the Eddy Temple Morris show.

As a moaner myself I would like to clear it up a bit - there's a huge differece between the new stuff played in Australia (WOD, Roadblox, Destroy, Rok Weiler, etc) and Nasty/Wild Frontier... I still think that Nasty is not fresh and interesting and Wild Frontier is too similar to Colours. Those were not the right tracks to put out first. I love all the other tracks except for those 2 8-)

i believe this album has a FOTL/pre-AONO vibe from the songs played live that we havent heard the studio version. This has to do with Liam using analog gear again? Certainly. But it also features elements of the two albums done after that era, in terms of song schemas and "templates". i love the rawness on the new tunes and the punky edge.
I think Liam understood he was taking so fucking long to release this record after a creative block and realised it was time to release things he done in the past with a revamp and the others at a fast writing pace.

Regarding the lack of moaning, my issue with Nasty is that its the weakest song we have heard so far and knowing he left songs as AOWL, Jetfighter caused that moan.

After hearing 7 of the 14 tracks of this record my faith in LH is restored, i wasnt too keen on IMD, it has its moments, but overall my least fav album.

Time to wait a bit more while listening to the live recordings.

+1! The difference between "organic" sound and "plastic" sound. Analog is just different class!

This album is gonna be huge!!!

So far, Nasty seems to be the weakest track and that's a better Omen in my opinion. Every other track I heard has a lot more quality but is also, as promised, more violent so I understand why Nasty has been released as first single... for the naive crowd that first needs to be lured in.

Fuck yeah I'm excited, The Prodigy's best work in fifteen years is about to be released...

http://www.twitter.com/eddyTM did say a while back that he was gonna have Liam in for an TDIME album play/talkthrough, if this is for that, don't expect it this week.

The Eddy TM Remix show is on http://www.xfm.co.uk/radio/remix Fridays at 10pm CET.

Yeah I'm with you on this. There's no point curbing anyone's enthusiasm based on live audio clips.

Nah, that's not the reason. Liam wrote WEL completely in the digital domain (just the W30, I believe) and most of Jilted was digital stuff: W30, the Akais, JD990, U220 etc. The lead in Voodoo People is digital, the trademark synth in Poison is digital, the SMBU lead synth, where everybody goes "Aaaahhhh!" is digital. Some bits were analogue on Jilted (I think he used the Minimoog there), but you people shouldn't put too much emphasis in this. He had lots of analogue stuff set up for AONO, though. It's the way the mixing and mastering just squashed everything dead that made it sound mushy and "digital". But that's a thing that happens since the start of the loudness wars everywhere. Liam always used a mix of digital and analogue stuff. It's not that analogue = automatically good and digital = automatically thin or whatever. These times are behind us. A good producer or engineer can make most sources sound warm and phat, regardless of the heritage.

Well, it could be. Not uncommon nowadays for full album streams to go up before release. This would be a good middle ground.
