I always wondered how you come up with such good quality recordings. So you record gigs via satellite's in space? Which relay back to you're collection of satellite dishes? Hmmmmm? Sneaky...... :)

Channel V is only on satellite tv services, which are a fucking ripoff in Australia.

I'd record it if I could, but please refer to my previous sentence to learn why I won't.

if you watch Channel 10 (normal t.v) not foxtel or anything on Video Hits this Saturday the 24th January from 10:00am onwards they are meant to have footage and broadcasting frome Gold Coast BDO that was last week.

Quoted from an email I received

"VH at Big Day Out!

Don't miss our exclusive Big Day Out coverage from Auckland this Sunday from 8:30am when we'll bring you interviews with all the biggest international acts including Arctic Monkeys, Ting Tings, Black Kids, The Prodigy, Lupe Fiasco and heaps more...

Then its onto the Gold Coast for all the Aussie acts - tune in Sat 24th Jan from 10am for BDO action with Sneaky Sound System, The Grates, The Living End, Cut Copy,
Youth Group and more.

The Video Hits Team "

In case anyone can capture some Prodigy performances, Channel [V] will broadcast live from the Melbourne day, 26-Jan from 3pm.

More info:

Prodigy are on:

Melbourne
BOILER ROOM
21:45-23:00

What they showed was shit. most of it anyways. Most of the bands suck (IMO) and just sound awful.

Only Prodigy bit that was shown was a 90-120 second interview which was basically about nothing. The chick interviewing them obviously had her questions written for her, No music related questions were asked, it was all about how it was their 4th time here for the BDO and how they coined the phrase 'Big Day Off'

No mention of any new tunes, no mention of the albums release in only about 4 weeks, nothing. No wonder most people here have no clue about The Prodigy anymore.

It was just ridiculous, the 2 channel V jackasses talked up Neil Young the whole time this "Live" shit was being shown. Also the guy was talking about how "awesome" it would be if Daft Punk would come for the BDO and how everybody would go see them instead of any other artist..... Then when it was getting close to showing the Neil Young shit, they say something like "coming up next is the legend Neil Young" and then in an unenthusiastic voice "but first here's an interview with The Prodigy."

Everytime there was an ad break or they were crossing over to something else, they had either some parts of IMD or the last few seconds of Breathe playing in the background..

The only cool thing I saw was a good live performance by Pendulum, they showed them playing "Voodoo People" (oh my god big shock there!), and "Metallica Remix/Slam."

When they were asking people "who did you come to see today?" I was surprised to hear that some people (but not many) said "oh I came for Pendulum AND gotta see Neil Young"

wtf? why would you come see Pendulum but not see The Prodigy? Out of all the people asked, they only showed about 2 people coming back with the answer "Prodigy"

well I've written enough bullshit here, I'm kinda in a bad mood because they didn't show jack fucking shit on there, was expecting maybe WOF at least since its been played all over U.K. tv for ages...

Angry Ninja over and out.

relax, from the reviews i read everybody got bored at neil young and couldn't leave in time to see the prodigy.also in all the locations prodigy played people were cramped and eager to get in.there are even complaints that the prodigy wasn't on the main stage because they had more people interested in them.
it's all promotion and shit for neil young.it's not relevant for the avaerage festival guy taste and option

try 2 hrs! people kept lookin at me strange coz i wasn't dancing most of the time

2 reasons
1- 95% of the tunes weres shit imo (peewee played some good ones but look at reason 2)
2- saving energy for prodigy

fro what i've heard you should be even sooner in there, although it will be difficult or boring to stay 2 hours doing nothing.but the idea was that in the other towns people got into the boiler room very early to catch a good spot, and after the gig started a ton of people were still outside trying to get in,although inside was packed, and very hot

sitting up the front way early and getting strange looks reminds me of my 2 tribes experience... but hey... I was up the front for the Prodigy so

2 hours hmm might be enough, but i waited 4 hours before Prodigy. I got a AWESOME position right at the front. Except the only bad thing was the shitty music i had to endure. Holy Ghost is shit, Hot Chip was even worse i just stood there getting weird looks at me because i wasnt dancing to them they totally sucked!!! Then Peewee came on, he was alright but it wasnt worth wasting my energy to dance around but as soon as Prodigy came on i went fucking crazy.

i was waiting in the boiler room for at least 4 hours for the prodigy lol, but it was deffintly worth it :) i am well aware that probably didnt have to but meh.

some of the djs were good some of there were shit but thats to be expected.

boy id rather not have to look at hot chip, i like a few of there songs but the guys look like the biggest losers, espically the fat guy!

deffently enjoyed simian mobile disco even tho i was up the front i couldnt see shit because there was a camera man in front of me with a tripod. everyone got soo wet were i was during simian the security cards kept spraying water on everyone.

the only thing i really saw outside of the boiler room was pendulum, they were good. people went spastic when they played voodoo people.

well I just can't let this opportunity to be right up the front pass me by. The only thing working against me is the people I'm going with. Not exactly the most coolest fukers out.
