So have any Americans found a place to buy 'Omen' yet? iTunes and Amazon US stores both don't have it listed and I can't download it from the Prodigy store.

Dunno about Poland, but in the UK, HMV has gone down hill!!

In my shitty little town of Worcester, they've put the CD section where the DVD section used to be (downstairs in the basement) and all the crappy DVDs and 'Sale' items look bare in the massive space that was once the massive CD section. WTF is going on? As for singles, forget it. They only stock a couple of RnB shit that happens to be in the charts that week!

I remember when you used to be able to go into HMV and buy underground dance 12" vinyls, specialist CDs, every CD single out, aswell as back catalogue singles. But now HMV is just a DVD seller!! Wankers!!

Changing the subject to a more happier note.. the unsuspecting citizens of Worcester have been treated to Omen at full volume all day, courtesey of my MG driving through town lots, windows open, speakers at full volume!!!

no and I stopped lookin. For some reason they aren't playing any shows or releasing a single before the album. man this album is going to sell GREAT in the US. Oh well once they come in september people will wake up and buy it, even if it is about 7 months late.

UK Chart Commentary by James Masterton
Week Ending February 21st 2009

http://new.uk.music.yahoo.com/blogs/cha ... 21st-2009/

Back on the singles chart and it is down to the boys to provide us with the two biggest new hits of the week. Storming the chart at Number 8 are the Prodigy with 'Omen', their first brand new hit single in over four and a half years. The great survivors of the golden age of rave music, The Prodigy first burst onto the singles chart in 1991 with famous club anthems such as 'Charly' and 'Everybody In The Place'. Proving that they were no novelty act, the hits kept on coming until they reached the peak of their chart success and notoriety in 1996 when both 'Firestarter' and 'Breathe' both stormed to Number One. The single is taken from their forthcoming fifth studio album 'Invaders Must Die' and with the sense of anticipation only heightened by their half decade hiatus (only interrupted by a 2005 hits collection and re-relleases of some of their older singles) 'Omen' was always going to make a huge impact. I'd question just where their distinctive hardcore big beats style fits in with current musical trends, particular in an era when dance music is a passing novelty rather than at the beating heart of musical culture. Nonetheless there is something oddly reassuring about hearing Keith Flint bark manically over a scratchy mess of synthesizer lines once again and those who were part of the famous Jilted Generation will lap this up eagerly.

Check Out some of the awful comments below from non-prodigy fans:
heres some: (help me find more and click on the link above to see the rest loads more get added each day)

1. Geoff - Mon 16 Feb 2009 9:38AM GMT
No comment on TI & Justin Timberlake's "Dead and Gone"?, which enters at 30 this week? Definitely more interesting than either the Morrissey or Prodigy entries, two artists who are well past their best.

3. huntj008 - Mon 16 Feb 2009 10:05AM GMT
Who the heck is "The Prodigy"? Never heard of him/her/them...song is naff anyway...
thats better. Now, the positives...
Firstly, Hurray for Lady Gaga still selling strongly with "Just Dance". And look, Lady Gaga "Poker Face" is climbing steadily up the charts! Does that mean it is finally starting to recieve single promotion?

7. Bob Dunning - Mon 16 Feb 2009 11:15AM GMT
Thought the Prodigy single tame, myself. Who does provide the vocals, does the bloke in the Firestarter video actually contibute? Or is this a Manili Vanili situation.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Justin Timberlake hahaha what a loser, prodigy are the ONLY decent band in the top 40!! as for the second guy he must have been living under a rock the past 10 years!
Lady Gaga more like LadyGaGay, stupid slut!

Bob Dunning you spelt Milli Vanilli wrong PRICK!

idiots all of them!! ahhhhhhhhhh

Post 24, i think you are being very generous to The Prodigy, with your prediction that they will drop to 19 next week.
My prediction will be that it will drop out of the top 40 altogether, as i doubt that there will be any new fans buying it this week, as rave music died a death some years ago.

maybe, most 15 years olds that like this sort of music would not comment about the charts cause they cant read. the rest (like my younger brother) are listening to older stuff like prodigy, rage, dark drum n bass, metal (Hatebreed, Devildriver), etc and rightly so. There is no real scene, just scattered people listening to various decent genres old and new. The scene that has been happening now is ummm i don't know how to describe it, something to do with money, celebrity and generally being a twat. its been like this since the turn of the century.

but would not surprise me if the comments are from people in their 20s my age group, ive met them, posers the lot of them. come on you gotta admit them comments about the prodigy just show how idiotic some critics are, just like the band said in interviews.

Plus i really hate most music nowadays, there is no hope for a new underground scene that matches what happened with punk, rave, manchester scene "stone roses, etc" early hip-hop, grunge and other great movements.

i was only 12 when experience was released so i was too young for that scene, as i got older we got (happy hardcore, nu metal, uk garage, pop idol, jumpstyle, emo, upper class indie music, new r'n'b and finally "money hop") just shit and shit and even more shit every fuckin day, nothing since the 90's, just corporate capitalism whore mongers, sucking satans cock for eternity!

Those "critics" seem to be confused.. They class The Prodigy as rave music?

The Prodigy don't really have a genre if you ask me. Yeah it's electronic, guess you could call it that. But I think they've got their own genre.

I collected my packet from the post office this morning, both the Vinyl and the CD were in there, woop! I can't believe I managed to get myself up early to collect some music that cost £4, but I fail to get up to get myself £50 a day
