Although it is in my opinion the lamest one - A pale and shabby copy of Experience there are few good things in this album - Colours, Thunder and Omen - very underestimated song...I know you will ban the topic again but I must express my indignation towards the group - afterall we are all free to express personal opinion ;) MFJG & TFOTL days are loooong gone now we are just dealing with mediocrity...

everyone please listen !
rather than comparing to the past why dont you compare to the present?!

would everyone like a another electro album that will bore you after a few weeks, like the 100's of others that are being released, at least liam's got some balls to release something like this, dont compare with other releases from the prodigy but compare to what else is being released

well in my opinion they have not really went back to anything.

i can't recall of hearing the synth stabs in take me in any of the experience tracks, just because you use older sounds doesn't mean you are trying to sound old.

there are a large amount of artists out there who have used and still do use synthesizers like the minimoog and the korg ms-20

now because there using those synths does that make them sound old ?

no it doesn't they'll still get called some shitty indie band or something.

just because the album has old sounds doesn't mean its an old sounding album, if prodigy wrote something like take me to the hospital in 1991, i'd have shit in my pampers back then !

i also believe it would be a much better more acclaimed track than even charly due to the production level thats went into the track.

sure warriors dance is a bit old sounding but even its basslines sound new, it was the very first track liam wrote for this new album, he done it for keith i believe, not to sing to it but to bring back the feeling they had from the old days.

tracks like piranha, take me, run etc etc dont fit in terms of old stuff, sure you can pinpoint where things have came from, like people say run is like the new firestarter, its not believe me, its just another fast punk track for keith, like wake the fuck up and first warning. i can never recall of anyone saying they sound like TFOLT

basically, all i'm trying to say is just because it has old sounds doesn't mean its an old sounding album or whatever, its been flowered in brand new sounds also, its like saying Coldplay's piano work is like Mozart or something just because its got an instrument over 100 years old on it, prodigy have used sounds that are only about 19 years old and even at that he edits them to hell and back before there on the final record

if you wouldn't say Coldplay's piano work is way to old then why say it for something thats like 1/10th of the age ? its fucking stupid in my opinion

this album is shit compared to their previous works. but i'm safe in mind :)

1. the kids grown up and this 'little' break around 2000 break the mood imo
2. liam became family man
3. pendulum, justice and others appeared - and what they got it shocked Liam, yeah
4. from 2000 everything is going down :?

it's shocking, but somehow expected to see how people dislike this album.in the aono era everybody complained about the electro trash sound, said they want the prodigy back to the oldschool.some wanted fat of the land, others praised the sound of the 2 albums.and now when liam gives us exactly what we want we still moan.now that he went oldschool we want something inovative and fuckin fresh.guess what we did get that with aono and you moaned about it,now when you get what you asked the shit starts again.
the same with the lost beats ep.we wanted unreleased tracks, studio work from liam.and now when we get them still moaning about it..

oh and i'm not into deleting topics like this.we're not fuckin ignorants, everyone deserves his opinion if it's justified and gives proper facts to it,not cry baby bulshit

I am very happy that a discussion worked out :) I am not here to moan - I am just feeling a little bit sad about it. I listen to electronica because of the Prodigy and I think that no other group will be able to reach or surpass the MFJG and The fay Albums even with the development of technology, synths, mixers e.t.c. But see - We had waited for 7 years to receive a-little-disappointing-but-still-somehow-nice peace of music with AONO - now almost five for let-us-make-some-money album...I don't expect MFJG now, but some descent music that fits Prodigy...
As for the guy who shared that nothing after 2000 is nice - I recommend that he listens to Crystal Method more...Both Tweekend & Legion Of Boom was realeased after 2000 and they really rock!
This is the last time I discuss the topic about Prodigy's latest works. Afterall I am a Big Fan and this is what big fan is all about - to support your favorites in all times and not to give up :)

To each his own off course.. But saying on one side how mediocre they are and on the other how they should be inspired by crystal method seems then strange. They take the throne of mediocraty!

The Crystal Method are now the best :) They have succeeded in keeping the quality, mood and the excitement over the years...There was a time when Crystal Method was as a whole inspired by The Prodigy...

I guess it's way better than AONO, but topping tfotl or mftjg seems a bit off. Experience was a different era altogether and i don't think we should compare. But back to lost beats. Hmmmmm... sucky sucky ten dollar!!! Jesus, he could have pulled something else out of the bag. And by the way, the elaborate scheme with Lb and the boxset makes me sick. I respect the band, and own more than 60 genuine releases, but f@ck sake.... buying the boxset for the lost beats, since there is nothing new in there apart from that, that draws the line. They are getting greedy, and i don't like that. Back in the days you had one release period. And the thing is, that the album sounds great without the pickles and onion!!!

Great day, cheers

This is the first album that has a theme. The tracks seem to be in an order, telling a story. Comparing this new material with older stuff is inevitable, but pointless... MFTJG will never happen again, todays society is very fast paced, and 6/7 minute long tracks aren't popular anymore. And as I read in another topic on this forum, it's hard to break new ground. Howletts done it TWICE!! So i'm happy that IMD reflects on past glorys, but still sounds kinda fresh and banging.

IMD isn't MFTJG or TFOTL, and i'm glad. IMD has some tracks that make me dance, tracks that give me goosepimples, and tracks that put a smile on my face. I can feel this album, something that never happened with AONO.

If IMD isn't to your taste, then fair enough. But for me, it's another classic album that I think we'll appreciate more in the following years.

To say IMD sounds like a shabby copy of experience is like saying...

ugh.. don't worry.. I can't be bothered.

and also.. I've bought the boxset not only for Lost Beats.. but also for the vinyls too.
