It's "Pains"
the writer's "IN" (as seen on "kINd of thunder") looks like a "W".

i personally think they messed up the lyrics cuz to me it sounds like
"I hear thunder but theres no rain, this kind of thunder breaks walls and window panes"
pain = the feeling u get when u get hurt
window panes = small usually single layered windows
