i dont think Liam is into that style of beats anymore. kinda sad because thats the kind of breakbeats i likes best.

You can hear it in tracks like: SMBU, Firestarter, Voodoo Beats, Diesel Power, Molotov Bitch, ect ect

stand-up is not a track made by Liam imo..

main riff: sampled straight from another tune. Nothing done with it
drums: given to him from Grohl
the rest: is just small things Liam have done. + a random 303 riff

To the guy saying that this is the way Liam works: Come on man.. you know better then that. Two of his best track ever: SMBU and No Good are very much sampled. But it sounds NOTHING like their original sources. Thats how you do good uses of sampling.

igf that's the way you guys feel about stand up than go agead and throw comanche to the trash can too.oh wait, everybody in here is fanatic over comanche.
in the end it's just a matter of taste, but the judge these tracks by the way liam chose to play with the samples is stupid.a good track,is a good track no matter how it was done

The way Stand Up was put together is more like the way FatBoySlim does things, not a genius like Liam...

As much as I despise that track, itsunfair to say its put together like a fatboy track because it isnt. Sonically it sounds similar, tho.

liam is a beat pirate, why the fuck do people not get that?.in most cases he will take elements of tracks beat the fuck out of them and give us that prodigy sound, who cares if its manfred mann or the ultramagnetic mc's..if your saying he is lazy then where the fuck have you been living since 1990?...most of prodigy stuff is sampled, do i care? do i fuck...people on will fucking whinge just for the sake of it, mescaline got no vocals, not hard enough, that sample is too obvious, fucking shut up and enjoy the fucking music...

This arguement is silly. Remember... Mescaline is basically THE beat from a Franz Ferniland remix, even has the same guitar stab. Unchanged. Just looped, with a kick ass synth over it. And it works and we all love it. Liam takes tracks and makes them rock. Stand Up maybe more of a copy/paste than most but it works and sounds good.

Anyway, back to Mescaline n the comment that the drums don't have enough boom or punch... is it just me or did the track used to have different drums back when Liam first started testing the track in gigs? Might be wrong, or it might just be the quality of the recordings/or just the live sound making it seem that way

Quality of record i think ;) But track needs much powerfull BOOM like you said. Some massive beats but track is awsome without these things.

the only thing I'd miss out of the live tune is the female vocal and the horn thingie melody over it, which you now only hear played near the end.

But awesome tune.

sample shmample!

The thing is he is the one that thinks to use those samples and where to use them. People say "oh I could make that" and they could, but they couldn't come up with the idea from nothing like Liam does. The guys a genious and we all love him. If you don't get the fuck out of brainkiller

Still beats any of the horse-shit remixes we've all had to put up with this year, good to finally get a proper b-side, I know what you mean though, I wouldnt call the track amazing, I personally preferred some of the earlier versions they played live, but then again, like most tracks, nothings ever really finished, one persons opinion on it isnt necessarily everyones, some will love it n some will not
