Sorry but as a designer who has designed books bigger than this for the last 8 years that is total bullshit, if anything paper/print is now a lot cheaper considering 1 printer goes out of business every day in the UK (512 this year alone!) and I know I am now getting much cheaper quotes on jobs and if this was the case you would see book prices rocket... which ain't happening.
Considering the binding, paper over board slip case and good paper you would still be pushing at around £30 per book and that is lavish considering there is no other special inks apart from the slip case cover and a die-cut on the slip case, if you got this printed in say Germany it would be even cheaper, there would be a design fee for this but that may be absorbed into all the other design insect has done.
If you want to see how an artist creates some thing amazing book wise check Futura's book designed by Ben Drury, loads of print techniques, die-cuts and a steal at £30

Was going to preorder the book witha chance of winning 1 of the discs, but got a code in the post for 10% off from today, so saved myself £9.90 instead

Strange - if I check my order status it says: Pending
And if I look into a more datailed view, it says:
1 x The Prodigy – Invaders Must Die - The Book
Book, Availability: 3 to 14 days
What happened ??? IMO the book should be immediately available ?
I will wait until tomorrow, maybe they are too busy to handle all orders ?

Sounds like these are being printed by demand/pre-order then, would take around 14 days to print/process something like this

Customer service is crap as usual. My missus got me one for Christmas and yesterday she got an email saying there was a problem with the payment and it would be delayed. I had to call them to find out what was happening with it and they said their computer bug hadn't taken the payment. I had taken the day off expecting delivery of this and she couldn't say when it would be posted or delivered.
It now says "sent for packaging" but imo it should have been delivered yesterday if all was well. Considering the delivery charges it should be delivered the day of release without fail - the same as the track release should be.
I've left a note here: Prodigy book web-link and once it finally arrives (whenever that will be) there will be another official complaint going in to both Record Store and Cutting Vinyl. That will be the second they've received from me as I got royally messed around over my IMD pre-release and it took an email to C-V to get sorted.
Get your complaints in and let's get rid of Record Store as they're shite!
Prodigy deserve better than their crap service.
Perhaps I should add something onto their facebook page...?

Received my book this morning. It's really heavy.
Nr. 877 out of 999. Truely nice stuff, wicked pics ( single and group shots, lots from different gigs, studio ones, video making etc. ) !
Tho, no shiny envelope for me. Not a fortunate one...
