Smashing Pumpkins have performed 'Firestarter' in their set in 96. Not commercially available, but there's a live recording on video recorded at Brixton Academy, London, UK 5.5.1996. In the Pumpkins version, James Iha did the vocals, not Billy Corgan who is the singer and guitarist of the band. The Smashing Pumpkins happens to be one of Liam's favourite bands.
